INA (RLC NEWS) — Rend Lake College was awarded a $199,951 grant toward the Student Center Efficiency Project by the Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN).

The project will include the demolition of the existing 2,490-square-foot window system on the north side of the RLC Student Center and replacing it with a 985-square-foot window curtain wall. In addition, new energy-efficient double doors will be installed. Reducing the size of the windows will improve building performance and significantly lower the heat load, contributing to long-term energy savings and sustainability.

Assistant Director of Facilities Management and Campus Operations Lynne French shares how the Student Center Efficiency Project meets RLC’s goals of commitment to its students and community.

“This project reflects our commitment to improving facilities, reducing operational costs, and creating a more efficient and comfortable environment for students and the campus community.”
