The File of Life Project provides participating households with a highly visible red folder to store critical medical details, emergency contacts, and other essential information. In the event of an emergency, first responders will know to look for the folder in a designated location, allowing them to immediately access lifesaving information and provide faster, more informed care.

“Quick access to accurate information can make all the difference in an emergency,” said Diane Skamra, RN, Director of Medical Surgical Department. “This project helps bridge the gap between patients, families, and emergency responders, ultimately improving outcomes.”

OEMC Director Ryan M. Buckingham echoed the importance of the program. “The File of Life Project is a simple, practical tool that empowers our community to be more resilient. We’re proud to partner with Franklin Hospital to bring this valuable resource to the residents of Franklin County.”

File of Life Folders will be distributed through Franklin Hospital, OEMC, and other community partners at no cost to residents. Educational materials and guidance on how to complete and maintain the folders will also be provided.
