MURPHYSBORO – The Jackson County Health Department is sponsoring a Shred, Med, Sharps and More Disposal Day on Saturday, Sept. 20. It will run from 8 a.m. to noon at 415 Health Department Road in Murphysboro.

There will be free and confidential document shredding. You’ll also be able to safely dispose of unwanted medications and sharps for free.

The event will also allow you to dispose of CFL and LED light bulbs and rechargeable batteries. And if you need a flu shot, you can get one at the event. Just schedule an appointment or drop in.

A Healthy Food Drive will also take place, so please bring nutritious, nonperishable food items with you to help fight food insecurity in Jackson County.
