HARRISBURG – A jury trial has been set for an Eldorado man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 44-year-old Michael J. Wiseman, also of Eldorado, earlier this month.

Online court records show 25-year-old Jesse W. Trout was in Saline County Court for his preliminary hearing Monday.
Trout entered a not guilty plea and will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Oct. 15. His jury trial is scheduled for Dec. 2. Trout remains lodged in the Saline County Jail.
Eldorado Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting near the corner of Benton and First streets shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7. Upon arrival, they found Wiseman suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
On Monday, Sept. 8, the Saline County State’s Attorney’s office formally charged Trout with first-degree murder following a detention hearing.
