METROPOLIS – The annual Cancer Warriors Walk for Hope “Community Health Resource Fair” will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at Dorothy Miller Park in Metropolis.
This free family event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature regional healthcare providers and local businesses sharing free information on cancer screenings, cardiovascular health, behavioral health, and other vital health services.
Visitors can also walk through a 20-foot inflatable colon and a 15-foot inflatable lung. There will be bounce houses, games and activities, tours of emergency response vehicles, and much more. Free car seat checks will be provided by The Little Resource Center in Carbondale. Pre-registration for car seat checks is requested.
Booths and activities begin at 10 a.m. following the opening ceremony at the Metropolis Lighthouse at the park at 9:30 a.m. Guests can also enter for a chance to win raffle items and a 50/50 drawing.
All proceeds from the fair support this annual event, and benefit healthcare programs and services throughout the region.
