WEST FRANKFORT – Shawn M. Trout, 49, of West Frankfort, passed away on August 7, 2025.

He was born on March 25, 1976, in Modesto, California, to Sheila Shelton. Shawn worked as a laborer in the construction field.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Beyond his military service, Shawn was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin, whose presence brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Sheila Shelton, and his brother, Ryan Trout.

Per Shawn’s wishes, cremation will take place.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL.

Shawn’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. March 25, 1976 – August 7, 2025
