MURPHYSBORO – The Jackson County State’s Attorney’s office announced Wednesday that a man was convicted of three counts of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver – all Class X felonies.

Jackson County State’s Attorney Joseph Cervantez says in a one day trial, his office presented evidence that 40-year-old William J. Johnston sold meth in varying amounts to an individual in Jackson County on three separate occasions.

Johnston was taken into custody at the Jackson County Jail and is awaiting sentencing.

The investigation was led by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group.
