SCOTT CITY, MO – Betty Walthes, 95, of Scott City, MO and formerly of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away Friday August 18, 2023, at her home at 9:07a.m.

Betty was born January 21, 1928, in New Baden, Illinois to Edward and Ora Naomi (Swinney) Manwaring.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon “Bing” Walthes, son and daughter-in-law V.E. and Diann Walthes, granddaughter Lydia Ann, great-grandson Jaxson Renn, parents, sister Jean Sinkler.

Betty is survived by her granddaughter Heather (Larry) Snodgrass, great granddaughter Georgie Renn, several nieces Lois Sinkler, Jody Sinkler, and Dawn Luttel; nephew Rick Sinkler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 24, 2023, at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois. 

Burial will be in Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
