MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Monday announced that an analysis by the Illinois State Police Crime Lab on a firearm recovered in the January warrant arrest of Brandon Tennyson of Marion has been released.

It shows that the firearm has been initially identified as associated to criminal cases pending with the Chicago Police Department (2 cases), St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Kansas City Police Department. The firearm was originally reported stolen to the University of Louisville Police Department.
According to the sheriff’s office, multiple warrants for Tennyson’s arrest were carried out on Jan. 5. While conducting operations deputies assisting a detective located Tennyson at his home on South Van Buren Street.
Tennyson answered the door and remained standing in the doorway while concealing his right hand behind it. A detective informed Tennyson that he was under arrest and Tennyson attempted to retreat into the home resulting in the detective extracting him from the home with force. When Tennyson was pulled from the doorway, a handgun fell from his right hand. Tennyson is a convicted felon and the handgun was taken into evidence.
Tennyson was arrested on multiple arrest warrants and additionally charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon – a Class 3 felony – and Resisting Obstructing a Peach Officer – a Class A misdemeanor.
Tennyson was taken to the Williamson County Jail. The handgun was entered into evidence pending lab analysis
